Writer Relocation took stock of the move.
The Challenges of Shifting Furniture & Handicrafts
The challenge was to export furniture items including brass items, ivory handicrafts, old clocks, and more from Ooty to USA.
The task was made more complex by the fact that the client had not visited India for 8 years. The Writer Relocations Move Advisor impressed on the customer the need to travel to India in order to comply with the export regulations.
Given the sentimental value attached to the move, the client visited Bangalore.
From Bangalore, we collected all the documents required for the export from the client. We also got the opportunity to explain the whole process of obtaining non-antiquity certificates fro the items from the Archeological Survey of India (ASI).
This process with the ASI takes around 2-3 months. This is because the expert committee meets just once a month.
The results of the antique furniture shifting
The document filing process with ASI was completed by Writer Relocations. The non-antiquity certificate was obtained for the majority of the items. The items were then shipped to the US.
The items that were found to be antique were delivered to the customer’s address in Ooty.
The client in the US, was reunited with the memories of his great grandfather and we’re sure he has many happy stories about the items shipped to tell his friends.
