Living in Germany

Germany, the most populated country in Europe, is the second most popular immigration destination in the world.

This European country is blessed with nature’s most beautiful creations right from sandy beaches on the Northern coast to the snow-clad Bavarian Alps on the southern border.

There are also many stunning castles, lakes, forests, and some beautifully preserved medieval villages in Germany.

The people of Germany enjoy visiting the opera and theaters as well as watching and playing sports. The German population is literate and highly cultured and has a liking for all kinds of arts.

Even though most Germans have basic knowledge of the English language, they will be more comfortable if you speak with them in their native language. They really appreciate when the expats living in Germany make an effort to learn German.

Germany is a part of the European Community as well as the Schengen Area.

Politics in Germany

Germany is a federal, parliamentary, representative democratic republic. The legislative power is vested in the parliament of Germany, which is called the Bundestag, and the representative body of the regional states, which is called the Bundesrat. Germany is a multi-party political system, with the major political parties being the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), also known as the union.

The elections in Germany are held every four years to elect the members of the Bundestag and select a Chancellor, who is the head of the government.

The head of state in Germany is the President, who is elected by the federal convention, which is an institution consisting of the members of the parliament and an equal number of state delegates.

Germany is the seventh-most visited country in the world and more than 30% Germans go for holidays in their own country. This is why tourism has also been a major contributor to the German economy.

Was amazed by the teamwork and enthusiasm shown by your employees. Even when it came to shifting a difficult bit of furniture (a large antique wooden cupboard), despite the struggle they did not give up and somehow managed to safely transport it to the destination. And when branches of trees were getting cut due to the passage of the big lorry, they stopped the vehicle some distance from the house and willingly carried all the furniture into the building. Their sensitivity and courtesy came as a pleasant surprise and the whole shifting went off extremely smoothly. Kudos to Mr Senthil and team!
