Living in the USA

The United States of America is the fourth largest country in the world. With a population of 325 Million, it is the third most populated country globally.

The USA is a country of immigrants and a land of hope and opportunity.

Every year millions of people from across the globe move to this country with hope of making a better life for themselves and their family.

America is a vast country and you can find all kinds of people here. Even though the culture and the laws keep changing as you move from one state to another, the entire country shares the same values and is driven by the same passion. Even the lifestyle of the people changes from one city to another.

If you plan to live in one of the famous cities of America like New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco or Boston, be prepared to live a fast-paced life.

On the contrary, if you want your days to be more relaxed, you can opt for states like Texas, New Orleans, Florida, Hawaii or Massachusetts.

Politics in the USA

The U.S. Constitution was formed in 1788 with the approval of the 13 colonies.

This Constitution divides the American government into three branches: executive, legislative, and judiciary. The Supreme Court, which comprises of eight judges and a Chief Justice, is the highest court in America and it heads the judiciary branch.

Legislative power is vested in a Congress that is made up of a House of Representatives and a Senate. The president heads the executive branch of the USA government. He or She is elected for a term of four years by the people of America.

There are two major political parties in the USA, the Democratic Party, and the Republican Party. In the first stage of the elections, called the primary elections, the Americans cast a vote to choose the Presidential Candidate from each of these Political Parties. Once this is done, the next phase of the election begins, in which both these Presidential Candidates run for the white house.

The American Economy

Even though the American economy faced a great recession from 2007 to 2010, it bounced back nicely and is the strongest economy in the world, today. Its currency, the US dollar, is the most used currency globally and is acceptable in almost all countries for international transactions.

The United States is the third largest producer of oil and natural gas, and one of the largest trading nations in the world. The seven biggest trading partners of the US are Canada, Mexico, China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

America is also the world’s second largest manufacturer and has the largest internal market for goods and services. The United States is one of the largest and most influential financial markets across the globe, and the New York Stock Exchange is the largest stock exchange in the world.

Buying or Renting Property in the USA

Buying or property in the United States of America is not very difficult.

The homes that you will find in this country are large and modern.

Even in smaller cities, people have renovated and updated homes that are equipped with all appliances right from an oven to a dishwasher.

Sometimes, finding suitable accommodation in bigger cities like New York and Los Angeles can be a little difficult if you have a tight budget.

The apartments in these cities are usually small and you would need to pay extra if space is what your requirement is.

However, in smaller cities, you will find individual houses with big front and back yards.

People from many different countries have migrated to the USA and settled in their communities.

If you wish to do the same, you can research a bit and find out what locality in your city is occupied by the people of your community.

The United States of America has one of the best schools in the world and that is the reason why, every year, millions of students apply for a spot in many of the American schools and universities.

If you have young children and are planning to move to the USA, it is better to move into a good school district, even if you have to travel a bit for work. Apart from the regular private and public schools in America, there are also many international schools that your children can opt for.

As far as language and curriculum are concerned, all the schools in the US, public as well as private, follow a standard pattern that is acceptable the world over.

Weather in the USA

The climate in the United States of America is extreme across different locations in the country. Some cities in the US like New York City have four defined seasons, with the right amount of temperature variations.

The people of New York even experience moderate rainfall and snowfall during winters. In certain other cities like Miami, almost every day is a sunny day. It rains occasionally in Miami and other cities in Florida.

The winters in Florida are pleasant and that is the reason many people like to go to Florida for their winter break to escape the cold.

The Chicago weather is completely opposite of Miami, with cold, long and harsh winters. Chicago experiences extreme temperatures during both summer and winter.
